Marikina Food Trip : Grissini Ristorante
Another hidden gem in Marikina worth checking out is Grissini Ristorante.
Grissini Ristorante is an Italian restaurant offering reasonably priced and delicious Italian dishes. For pizza and pasta lovers, look no further, this is the best place to be if you are craving for authentic Italian food.
Located along Mayor Gil Fernando Avenue in Marikina, this street is almost comparable to the famous Lilac Street because of the many food parks and restaurants in the area. Grissini Ristorante is very easy to find, landmarks are Marikina Engineering Office, Crave Park, ISYC school and Beeffalo By HotRocks.
Inside the restaurant, there is a cake shop where homemade baked goodies such as cakes, pastries, and desserts are available.
The interior is very Instagram worthy with cozy, inviting and relaxing ambiance.
Grissini Ristorante is very spacious and can accommodate up to 100 guests. They also have available tables and chairs if you prefer alfresco dining. The dining area is divided into two which makes the other area available as a function room for events like birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations.
During our visit, we were led to the inner dining area. Most of the tables were empty but majority of guests arrived around dinner time. It was almost full by the time we left the restaurant.
Upon seating, we were given a plate of breadsticks. These are FREE by the way. A little bit of trivia – Grissini Ristorante was named after the Italian word for breadsticks which is “grissini” .
For our orders, since we love seafood, we had Risotto di Mare (Php 245). This is an Italian dish made from rice and mixed seafood. This dish had generous amount of mixed seafood. I also added two orders of steamed rice (Php 50) just in case the Risotto will not suffice.
We also had one order of Involtini di Pancetta (Php 260) . In the menu, it says “roasted rolled pork belly, erba provenza, sauce picante“. The roasted pork belly was well cooked and very tender -can be recommended for oldies and senior citizens.
Of course, we had to try one of their best sellers – the Capriciosa Pizza (Php 270). We ordered the smallest size (10 inches) and it was more than enough for the three of us. Capriciosa pizza is very flavorful loaded with many toppings and it truly deserved its spot. This handcrafted thin crust pizza is made with Italian sausage, olives, bell peppers, mushrooms, bacon, anchovies, mozzarella and parmesan cheese cooked in a brick oven.
To balance everything, we ordered smoothies: Watermelon Shake (Php 100), Mango Shake (Php 110) and Mix Berries (Php 110). All of us agreed that their smoothies really tasted great and my daughter commented that the Mix Berries is her newest favorite smoothie.
As for dessert, we had Panna Cotta, the best dessert for a heavy Italian meal. These babies are very pretty to look at, topped with fruits and also very creamy and delicious. A must try!
Grissini Ristorante is a restaurant worth checking out. This place may look intimidating at first, but I think this is a perfect venue to date your parents, to make “chika” with girlfriends, or to catch up with your balikbayan friends and loved ones.
You can never go wrong with their generous serving, cozy ambiance, and delicious Italian dishes. As for me, I can’t wait to go back and try their other dishes.
If you are craving for pizza and pasta, why not have a taste of Italy in Marikina and dine at Grissini Ristorante.
